I love my essential oils. I especially love using them to get energized! When I need more than just my morning cup of coffee I turn to my oils. There are many oils that will uplift you. I’d like to share with you my favorites and how to use them!

#1 Peppermint Essential Oil and Peppermint Vitality Essential Oil
Peppermint

I love using peppermint to give me that extra boost of positivity! You can apply it to your head and neck before, during, or after a workout. You can use this any time you feel like you need it! Diffuse this oil to enjoy the fresh, uplifting scent. Experiment by combining it with your other favorite single oils.  Peppermint Vitality can be added to your water for some extra digestive support which can help with energy. When the belly is bloated, energy is hard to come by. Peppermint comes in the Premium Starter Kit!!!

#2 En-R-Gee Essential Oil Blend

en-r-gee

As it’s name would suggest, En-R-Gee is energizing! This oil can be used topically on the pulse points such as the wrist, behind the ears, temples or any area you desire. Another great method is to diffuse or simply place a drop in your hands, cup over your face, and inhale. This is a must have oil!

#3 Orange Essential Oil and Orange Vitality Essential Oil

Orange

This oil can help you feel more productive and focused. They can also promote positive feelings. This oil is great diffused. If you want to give an extra kick to your peppermint add some orange to the diffuser for an extra eye opening experience! Orange is one of my favorites! I love to use the Vitality in my ice water. Now that I think about it, I need to order some more! My bottle is getting low! Experience the wonderful benefits yourself and order your own! This pairs well with many of the oils in the premium starter kit!

#4 Rosemary Essential Oil and Rosemary Vitality Essential Oil

Rosemary

Rosemary is extremely beneficial when you have low energy. It is stimulating to the mind and can help you focus and store information. This is especially helpful if you are trying to study or learn something new after a long day. This blends well with peppermint. Rosemary Vitality is excellent to add to your food in place of dried herbs. Use a toothpick to add the oil to a meal as essential oils are very potent.

#5 Lemon Essential Oil and Lemon Vitality Essential Oil

Lemon

Lemon falls into the citrus category. I love to diffuse it along with peppermint and lavender. If you need an extra stimulate mid day add a drop of Lemon Vitality to your unsweet tea, hot tea, or ice water. It tastes great and give you an extra boost. If you are finding it hard to concentrate after lunch time start packing this little baby in your lunch bag. It also taste great to add to salad dressings. This is an oil I carry with me daily. We have 3 bottles at all times! Lemon comes in the Premium Starter Kit!!!

Essential Oils and Your Pet

Young Living is committed to providing quality products that are safe for our pets! If you love using Young Living products on yourself and in your home, you’ve probably wondered how you can share their amazing benefits with your pets.

Pets Love Essential Oils!

Here are some tips on how to use oils on your pet:

  • Let your pet choose the oil they need!
  • Every pet is different, carefully observe how each animal responds to the oils. Use common sense and good judgment as you try different methods.
  • Take special care to not get essential oils in the animal’s eyes.
  • Use in moderation and start with heavy dilution.
  • Do not use Tea Tree on Birds or Cats.
  • Avoid using high-phenol oils such as Oregano and Thyme with any animal, especially kitties!

Check it out! You can use oils from the Premium Starter Kit!!!

Oils for Dogs

Essential Oils For Your Dog!

Dogs can benefit from oils in several ways.  Here is a list of common reasons to use essential oils on your dog:

  • Calming
  • Nervousness
  • Skeletal Support
  • Muscular Support
  • Chewing on Furniture
  • Cellular Support
  • Cleansing

Apply oils to your dog’s foot pads following the Dog Vita Flex Chart. You can also apply oils to your hands and rub the oil down the dogs back.

Small Dogs: Start with 1 drop. Unless otherwise indicated on the product label, dilution is unnecessary.

Oils for cats Cats are very sensitive animals. They too can benefit from essential oils. More dilution is always a good thing!!!

Avoid using high-phenol oils such as Oregano and Thyme with any animals, especially cats. Melaleuca should never be used on or near cats.

  • Use special caution when using essential oils with cats. Cats are also generally averse to citrus essential oils.
  • If you are diffusing essential oils, be sure to leave the door open so the cat can exit when she needs too. A few minutes is really all they need.

For cats: use 1-2 drops. Be sure to dilute 80–90 percent before application (for example, for every 1 drop of oil, use 4–5 drops of a diluting agent, such as V-6™ Vegetable Oil Complex).

Oils for birds What? Birds Can Use Oils?!

If you have a pet bird then you already know they are extremely sensitive to household toxins. Pet bird owners have to be careful about spraying air fresheners or burning candles because it can be dangerous to the bird.

Until recently, it was believed that aromatherapy was toxic to birds. Scented household products contain poor grade fragrances, added toxins, adulterated oils, or synthetic essential oils. Because of this, it was thought that all essential oils were toxic to birds. This is simply not true. Birds, especially parrots, are a new addition to the world of veterinary aromatherapy. Take note: Tea Tree/ Melaleuca is very toxic to birds and in some cases can lead to death. Never use Tea Tree on your pet bird!

While birds have a distinct way that they should be exposed to essential oils, it has been found that they not only benefit, but thrive, with the addition of essential oils into their lives. Consult your trusted veterinarian before attempting to use essential oils on your pet bird.

Erica Cain, Member #2110300 (18) Horses can be oiled too!

Horses and other members of the Equidae family are fairly easy to administer essential oils to. Horses intuitively love essential oils and will often times take the guess-work out of choosing the right oils! Despite their size, horses require the same amount of essential oil as a dog or small human. Horses have been known to respond better to diluted oils rather than neat, or undiluted essential oils.

How do you know if a horse likes the oil?
Horses enjoy choosing their own oil. Offer them a few bottles and most often than not, they will tell you which one they like!!! Pay attention to the nose! Horses that like the oil may flare their nostrils, go for the bottle, and even try to even nuzzle it out of your hand!

Are there any concerns?
More often than not, Horses that develop a bad reaction to essential oils have been administered perfume grade or aromatherapy oils. These oils contain 90-95 percent solvents! (A friend of mine bought a bottle of tea tree from the internet. She paid very little for it and we could actually see the essential oil floating at the top. It had a tea tree smell, if you could get past the kerosene odor.)
